Itunes and converting audiobook MP3?
I downloaded a book to Itunes for my Mom with the assumption that I could convert it to MP3 so that she could listen to it on her small stereo (which plays MP3s). When I tried to do that, there was a message that said you could not convert Itune audiobooks to MP3. Yes, I’m very annoyed as there was no mention of that when I bought it. I was able to save it to a datadisk (CD-R), but not being really savvy, not sure how or if I can covert this using some other program to MP3. Anybody know?

Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks to using iAnything. Apple is so proprietary about their content that they make it very difficult to use their content on anything other than Apple products.
You might try a program like FreeRip (http://freerip.com/) on the CD you burned, but I am not sure if that will work, since you only saved the files as data, not as mp3s or wavs or other audio formats.
The only other thing I can think of is to try downloading it to an mp3 player (iPod or other) and using the Aux connection to play on the stereo, if the stereo is capable of doing this.
You might also try going to your local library and see if they have the audio book of this title (or any other title). You should be able to download/rip this to your computer using FreeRip or possibly even iTunes and then make mp3 cds from this. Most audio books use standard audio files (wav?) just like any music cd. By ripping them to mp3s, you can fit a book with 10 or more discs onto one mp3 cd and have the whole book on one cd.
